Defense Industry Work

These articles and images are from the Boeing Company archives. Throughout World War II, people with disabilities were encouraged to go to work in defense industries, and employers were encouraged to get over their attitudes that disabled people lacked the skills, endurance, and competence to do the job. Like women, this work force was let go when the emergency was over.
