WASHINGTON-National Public Radio News will present comprehensive, live coverage of the historic inauguration activities of the 42nd President of the United States, George W. Bush on Saturday, January 20, 2001 from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. EST. The NPR News Special, Inauguration 2001, will include President Bush's inaugural address, the inaugural parade, as well as reaction to the future Bush administration.

11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. EST NPR News Special: Inauguration 2001 Scott Simon, host of Weekend Edition Saturday, and NPR News correspondent Elizabeth Arnold will anchor a three-hour special focusing on all aspects of Inauguration Day. Listeners will be able to hear the live broadcast of the inauguration ceremony, reports from the U.S. Capitol and the various protest sites, follow the parade down Pennsylvania Avenue, and hear reaction from observers in the crowd and around the country.


2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. EST


NPR News Special: Inauguration 2001 The program continues with anchors Juan Williams and Neal Conan broadcasting from along the parade route. This broadcast will include calls from listeners, in-studio and remote site guests, and excerpts of President Bush's inaugural address. Inauguration coverage will continue after 5:00 p.m. on Weekend All Things Considered® from NPR News. There will also be updates from NPR News throughout the weekend.
